Lady Gaga's Harlequin, a 13-track companion album to the film Joker: Folie a Deux, has arrived mere days after being announced earlier this week. Gaga co-stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix's title character in the Warner Bros. Pictures movie, due 10/4 in theaters.
The two sing an array of standards in the film; you can find those on the Interscope ST, slated to drop on opening day.
It's unknown how the soundtrack will specifically differ from what Gaga has cooked up on Harlequin, which also includes standards like "That's Life," "Get Happy" and "World on a String."
"The film had so much music in it, so much music that I love, and I was able to discover the character through the story, through the music that we did live every day as well as dance and the costumes and the makeup," Gaga told Apple Music. "So I kind of had this deep experience with the character and she just didn’t really leave me creatively, and I decided I wanted to make a whole album inspired by her.”
In an interesting stroke of timing, the artist already has a separate, massive worldwide hit on her hands thanks to her Bruno Mars collab "Die With a Smile," which remains #1 at Spotify U.S. The next proper Gaga album is due early next year, with a single expected in October.
Now, peep the Folie a Deux trailer here and get happy—or, happier than you are right now.
