AMY ALLEN TALKS SONGWRITING ON TIKTOK

Sizzling-hot songwriter Amy Allen is affording a glimpse into her creative process in TikTok's #BehindTheSong series, which so far has spotlighted her Tate McRae hit "Greedy" and her own solo song, "darkside."

Among other feats, Allen co-wrote every song on Sabrina Carpenter's massive Short n' Sweet, which boasts the smashes "Espresso," "Please Please Please" and "Taste." Allen previously shared in the 2023 Album of the Year Grammy for her work on Harry Styles' Harry's House.

“I got my first guitar when I was nine years old, and back then I had no idea about the incredible songwriters that were behind the songs that made me fall in love with music," said Allen, whose repertoire is handled by Warner Chappell. "All these years and songs later, I’m so excited to be a part of TikTok's Behind the Song campaign to help bring people into the songwriting process and shine a bright light on songwriters and their stories.”

TikTok says #BehindTheSong has generated more than 390k creator videos since it was launched in 2023, including from such renowned writers as FINNEAS and Nile Rodgers.

HITS' home demos, meanwhile, remain criminally overlooked.
