Freshly inked 14-year-old country phenom Maddox Batson, during his recent visit to Warner Records HQ, was corralled into this photo op with label honchos. "I imagine this is pretty cool for you, being inside the offices of a major record company," noted label Co-Chairman/CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. "Sure is," replied the youngster, whose new single, "X's," just dropped. "How much you want for the building?" Seen just before a lively discussion of hedge-fund opportunities are (l-r) COO/Co-Chairman Tom Corson, Batson, WMG board member Val Blavatnik and Bay-Schuck.
Having recently co-written Lana Del Rey and Quavo's “Tough,” Batson continues to make waves as a performer. He became the youngest artist to grace Whiskey Jam at CMA Fest in June and will play Maddox Batson & Friends at White House Pumpkin Patch in White House, Tennessee, on 9/28. The teen will hit the road with Gabby Barrett this fall.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, who now resides in Nashville, Batson blends classic country, Southern rock and pop in a style that's garnered a global fan base. His previous singles include “Tears in the River” and “I Wanna Know.”
