VMAs ADD KAROL, ANITTA, SHAWN, LL

The marquee for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards has grown to include KAROL G, Anitta, Shawn Mendes and LL COOL J.

KAROL, who’s nominated in the Best Latin category, returns for her second VMA appearance, while Anitta will be back for a third. The latter diva is expected to bring out Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Tiago PZK to pump up the world premiere of “Paradise.”

Along those lines, both Mendes and Ladies Love Cool James will debut songs from their forthcoming albums; the former's Shawn (Island) is due 10/18; LL’s The Force (Def Jam) arrives 9/6.

Previously announced performers for the Megan Thee Stallion-hosted fête include Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro and U.K. chart queen-to-be Sabrina Carpenter.

Katy Perry, who will be honored with this year’s Video Vanguard Award, will perform a career-spanning medley of hits with or without Left Shark.

The VMAs will emanate from Long Island's UBS Arena on 9/11. HITS is hoping there’s still some of that new arena smell in the air.
