Three of Europe’s most prestigious and well-known festivals get underway this weekend, led by an eclectic array of talent and genres.
The U.K.’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, held 8/23-25, feature the same lineup at Bramham Park in Leeds and Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue in Reading. The Live Nation-promoted tandem event has tapped current EDM poster boy Fred again.. (Wasserman), blink-182 (CAA), Liam Gallagher (Wasserman) and Catfish and the Bottlemen (Primary Talent) as headliners. About 75,000 punters are expected each day at both sites.
Fred again.. (above) will also headline France’s top mega-festival Rock en Seine, which will transpire just outside of Paris at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. Other names at the top of the bill include Måneskin (ITB), Massive Attack (WME) and LCD Soundsystem (WME).
Though perhaps not as world-famous as the other three, the Creamfields Festival will draw more than 70,000 hardcore electronic-music fans to Daresbury, U.K., beginning today. The four-day Live Nation fest, which has been at the forefront of the genre for two decades, features 300 artists performing on 30 stages, including Tiesto (Paul Morris), Martin Garrix (Ace) and Hardwell (ANNA).
