Following the grand entrance of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ duet, “Die With a Smile” (Interscope), which included debut live performances last week at Los Angeles' new Intuit Dome, the collab is starting to take off at DSPs.
“Die With a Smile” reached #1 at Apple Music early Tuesday morning (8/20) and also hit new peaks at Spotify, climbing to #3 worldwide and #1 in the U.S.
A throwback power ballad, “Die” offers fans a more traditional take on pop music, with dry production, plenty of reverb and an unmatched delivery from two of the most acclaimed vocalists in music today.
The song immediately blows up any Grammy-contender bingo cards that existed last week; combining for nearly 30 Grammy wins and 60+ nominations, the Gaga/Bruno ticket will undoubtedly be a favorite come voting season.
“Die With a Smile” also has the advantage of being top of mind, arriving just two weeks before the eligibility period closes.
