U.K. MIDWEEKS: THE SCRIPT HOMES IN ON SEVENTH #1

The Script is leading the U.K.’s Official Albums midweek race with Satellites (BMG). On the singles tally, Chase & Status and Stormzy are aiming for a second week at #1.

Satellites, the Script’s seventh LP, will likely follow its five other studio albums and a greatest hits collection to the top of the chart.

Elsewhere on the album roundup, Post Malone is new at #2 with F-1 Trillion (Island). Welsh rock band Scarlet Rebels start at #3 with Where the Colours Meet (Earache).

Following the return of the Eras Tour to the U.K. for a final leg, Taylor Swift has seven albums in today’s Top 40. THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI) is at #4, Lover at #14, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at #16, folklore #17, reputation #18, Midnights #24 and Red (Taylor’s Version) #37.

Thanks to the release of a 10th anniversary edition, Royal Blood’s self-titled debut (Warner Music U.K.) could re-enter the Top 10, at #7.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, “Backbone” (0207 Records/EMI/Merky) by Chase & Status and Stormzy is still in the lead. However, Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!” (Island) is less than 1,000 in chart sales behind, at #2, and could easily take the crown.

“Kisses” (Atlantic) by BL3SS, CamrinWatsin and bbyclose is expected to enter the Top 5 for the first time on Friday, rising one to #5.

At #7, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ new collaboration, “Die With a Smile” (Atlantic/Interscope), is on track to be this week’s highest new entry. “Somedays” (Solotoko), by Sonny Fedora, Jazzy and D.O.D, could jump eight to #11.
