Taylor Swift once again leads the pack with 10 nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards, which will be bestowed 9/10 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
Swift's "Fortnight" f/Post Malone accounts for eight of those nominations, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, Best Cinematography and Best Direction. She won nine awards at the 2023 ceremony, including Video of the Year for "Anti-Hero."
Malone's total increases to nine thanks to a second nod in the Best Collaboration category for "I Had Some Help," his Morgan Wallen-assisted smash.
Ariana Grande scored six nominations, as did the red-hot Sabrina Carpenter, whose "Espresso" is up for Song of the Year and "Please Please Please" for Best Direction. Eminem garnered six nods of his own for music from The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
Megan Thee Stallion (5), SZA (5), LISA (4), Teddy Swims (4), Dua Lipa (3), Benson Boone (3), Anitta (3), Tyla (3), Bleachers (3) and GloRilla (3) also posted multiple nominations this year.
Among the 29 first-time nominees are Wallen, Chappell Roan, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Shaboozey and Tyler Childers.
Anitta is the most-nominated Latin artist with three nods. She, alongside Peso Pluma for their collaboration "BELLAKEO," will take on Bad Bunny, KAROL G, Myke Towers, Rauw Alejandro and Shakira in Best Latin.
Fans will be able to vote in 15 gender-neutral categories by heading here through 8/30, while Best New Artist voting will be open until the day of the broadcast, which will be executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Den of Thieves co-founder Jesse Ignjatovic. Barb Bialkowski is co-executive producer.
Meanwhile, we're making plans to sneak past the media check-in tent outside the venue.
