Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (Island) is expected to reach #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums chart this week, while over on the midweek singles tally, “Guess” (Atlantic) by Charli xcx is leading the charge.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is up three places midweek thanks to the release of a vinyl variant. Should Roan (pictured) hold onto this position until Friday, she will reach #1 in the album's 17th week on the chart.
BRAT by Charli xcx is also on the rise, up one to #2 today. Elsewhere, No Name (Third Man Records) could be Jack White’s sixth solo Top 10; it's #6. The surprise release VULTURES 2 (YZY) by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign is also aiming for a Top 10 debut. It’s currently predicted to enter at #9.
Sam Smith’s In the Lonely Hour (Capitol) is on track to re-enter the Top 40, at #22, for the first time in three years after being re-released as a 10th anniversary edition.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, “Guess,” from BRAT’s extended edition, is new at #1 thanks to a viral remix featuring Billie Eilish. This would be Charli's second U.K. #1 single and first as a lead artist (she hit the top in 2012 with the Icona Pop monster "I Love It"). Two other songs from BRAT are also on the rise, with “Apple” up four to #10 and “360” climbing one to #11.
“Kehlani” (300) by Jordan Adetunji is set for a new peak of #13, buoyed by a remix aptly featuring Kehlani. “Move” (Keinemusik) by Adam Port, Stryv and Keinemusik is up three to #15.
Thanks to an appearance in Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine, “Bye Bye Bye” (Zomba) by *NSYNC is in the Top 20 for the first time in 24 years, at #16.
