WHITNEY HOUSTON FANS WILL HEAR A 'SYMPHONY'

Park Avenue Artists and Primary Wave Music will turn the spotlight on center stage for a project focusing on iconic vocalists that will kick off with The Voice of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration.

Premiering 8/30 at the Ravinia Festival outside Chicago before embarking on a North American trek, the endeavor will use the late Whitney Houston's most important performances, isolated from the original recordings, as its centerpiece. The Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany those well-known vocals.

The program will span Houston's career, from her legendary Super Bowl XXV performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” to hits like “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Greatest Love of All" and the ubiquitous “I Will Always Love You." A Symphonic Celebration will showcase home videos, rare photos and other memorabilia from the singer's life.

“This project highlights how legacy artists and their estates can continue to create meaningful experiences for music lovers, and The Voice of Whitney is the first of several planned collaborations,” said PAA Co-President Ross Michaels. “We know it will be successful thanks to this partnership with Primary Wave.”
