JACK WHITE: IN A DAZE (AND IN THE BAG)

Fresh off the surprise release of his new album—announced via its deposit into the shopping bags of unsuspecting customers at his Third Man Records stores in Nashville, Detroit and London—Jack White has another trick up his sleeve.

The rock veteran will play his first headlining gig since early 2023 when he fronts Desert Daze in Lake Perris, California, 10/10-13. The festival took a hiatus last year but is returning to its unique setting 75 miles east of Los Angeles with a lineup that will also feature The Mars Volta, Cigarettes After Sex, De La Soul, Thundercat, Alex G, 100 gecs, Fleet Foxes, Liz Phair and stoner-rock legend Sleep.

Also on the bill are left-of-center favorites like The Kills, Converge, Power Trip, Floating Points, Unwound, Shintaro Sakamoto, Death From Above 1979 and Bikini Kill's Kathleen Hannah, who will read from her memoir, Rebel Girl: My Life as a Feminist Punk.

Fans can also expect art installations, a jazz tent curated by Gold Diggers and programmed by Jazz Is Dead and a camping village. Bring your comfy shoes because that walk back to the tent at the end of the night is long and chilly!

The self-produced Desert Daze was co-founded by Phil Pirrone. Click here for tickets, which go on sale Friday (7/26).
