YOU'LL FORGIVE US IF WE'RE A LITTLE DISTRACTED RIGHT NOW.

The word "historic" is overused in these hyperbolic times, but there's no question that 7/21 brought truly historic news. President Joe Biden's decision to end his candidacy, leaving VP Kamala Harris a clear lane to the nomination, has shaken up the culture and injected new energy into what had been a moribund, ever-darkening campaign season.

We have no idea what sort of future awaits us. But for the time being we are experiencing an odd sensation that bears a remarkable resemblance to hope. So if we're a little distracted right now, we beg your indulgence.

We salute President Biden for making what must have been a difficult decision, but one that fully reflects his dedication and selflessness.

Now it's time to fan that spark of hope into a fire.
