TOP 50: TAY TIES WALLEN'S RECORD; ZACH MAKES A GREAT ENTRANCE

Republic’s Taylor Swift is now tied with labelmate Morgan Wallen for most consecutive weeks at #1 on the HITS Top 50—12—thanks to this week’s performance by her juggernaut THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Available in myriad physical iterations that have proven pure catnip to Swifties, the set added another 162k+ to its staggering U.S. total of just under 5 million.

Country phenom Zach Bryan, meanwhile, lands at #2 with The Great American Bar Scene. The Warner album, which was released on 7/4 and thus made its chart debut (at #14) after just one day in the marketplace, notched nearly 140k in what we’re forced to call its second week. Bryan’s self-titled 2023 album sits at #11 on this week’s chart.

Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic), Billie Eilish’s HIT ME HARD AND SOFT (Darkroom/Interscope) and Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (Island) round out the Top 5.

Opium/Interscope’s Ken Carson and Mercury/Republic’s Post Malone reappear on the chart this week at #16 and #17, respectively, while Armageddon: The 1st Album by SM/Warner’s Aespa pops back in at #26 with 20k+.

In other news of the week, Eminem’s long-awaited new album, The Death of Slim Shady: Coup de Grâce (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope), dropped today (7/12). Other new arrivals include Big Loud Rock’s HARDY, Columbia/Sony Nashville’s Megan Moroney, Mosley/Interscope’s OneRepublic, Island’s Remi Wolf, Spanish Prayers/Partisan’s Cigarettes After Sex, Virgin's Clairo and Belift Lab/Geffen’s ENHYPEN.

Will Eminem put an end to Taylor’s run at #1? Very possibly. Will someone put an end to us? If only. See the full chart here.
