As promised, Eminem delivered his 12th album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), today (7/12).
Billed as a concept album, the 19-track set includes the previously released singles "Houdini" and "Tobey" as well as a sequel to 1999's "Guilty Conscience," which originally appeared on The Slim Shady LP. This version, however, doesn't feature Dr. Dre. Instead, it finds Em's evil alter-ego, Slim Shady, swapping verses with Marshall Mathers.
The only credited guests on the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album are Big Sean and relative newcomer BabyTron. Production comes courtesy of Dr. Dre, Luis Resto, Foulmouth and Eminem, to name a few.
The Death of Slim Shady is the follow-up to 2020's Music To Be Murdered By. It marks a significant chapter in Em's career, symbolizing the end of Shady's reign of terror. The same cannot be said of ours.
