GOFFIN'S LIFE STORY DEPICTED IN NEW DOC

The work of legendary songwriter Gerry Goffin has been recorded by dozens of celebrated artists over the last six decades, including Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Kylie Minogue, Amy Winehouse and his ex-wife, Carole King.

To tell Goffin's story, Primary Wave Music, Be Forward Productions and Storyvault Films have teamed up on a documentary called Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? The film will "explore Goffin’s roots as a songwriter, his marriage and family life with King, his professional highs and lows and his battle with severe mental health issues."

Several members of Goffin's inner-circle, including King, his daughters Louise and Sherry Goffin Kondor, widow Michele Conaway Goffin and longtime manager Christine Russell, will appear in the 90-minute feature. The production will also access Goffin’s archive and catalog, replete with material never before seen or heard.

“It is truly an honor to be part of this filmmaking team, which will take a deep dive into the life and times of a songwriter whose music is the soundtrack of the lives and loves of millions of people around the world,” said Primary Wave Music CCO Natalia Nastaskin. "Gerry Goffin’s hits ‘The Loco-Motion,’ ‘Up on the Roof,’ ‘(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman’ and countless others will be prominently featured as the story of Gerry’s own life and loves unfolds.”

Goffin received numerous accolades. In 2004 he and King were honored with the Recording Academy's Trustees Award. In 2014, Goffin and King's life in music became the subject of the hit Broadway show Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which won two Tony Awards. The show also earned a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.

Gerry Goffin died in 2014 at age 75.
