PRIMARY WAVE KICKS OFF MANCINI CENTENNIAL

This Friday (6/21), Primary Wave Music, in partnership with the Mancini family, will release Henry Mancini 100th Sessions – Henry Has Company, featuring Quincy Jones, Michael Bublé, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Pat Metheny, among other luminaries. The album is part of the celebration for what would have been the late, legendary composer’s 100th birthday on 4/16.

Two tracks have been made available prior to the album release: “Pink Panther” f/Lizzo and Sir James Galway, is the second offering from the seven-song collection, following “Peter Gunn” f/Quincy, John Williams, Herbie and Arturo Sandoval.

The celebration continues Sunday (6/23) as The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra conducted by Thomas Wilkins, Bublé, Cynthia Erivo and Hank’s daughter Monica Mancini open the Bowl's 2024 season with a 100th birthday concert. The next day, the Grammy Museum will honor Mancini’s centennial with an event featuring performances by Dave Koz, Monica Mancini and Gregg Field, as well as a Q&A with members of the Mancini family and a couple of surprise guest artists.

Mancini centennial special events will continue throughout 2024.
