U.K. MIDWEEKS: SABRINA EYES SECOND CONSECUTIVE #1

Sabrina Carpenter is poised for her second straight #1 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart, with “Please Please Please” (Island) leading the midweek race. Over on the U.K. albums rundown, Paul McCartney & Wings have the highest new entry.

“Please Please Please” moves up two places to #1 as Eminem’s “Houdini” (Interscope) slips to #2. Carpenter’s former #1, “Espresso,” is holding strong at #3.

“Stargazing” (RCA) by Myles Smith could reach its highest peak this week, as it’s currently up one to #6.

As the Eras Tour continues in the U.K., Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” f/Post Malone (EMI) is up one to #11. Her “Cruel Summer,” from 2019, rises to #13 from #17.

On the U.K.’s Official Albums midweek update, Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT is looking at a seventh nonconsecutive week at #1. Billie Eilish is only about 1.1k in chart sales behind her, at #2 with HIT ME HARD AND SOFT (Interscope).

One Hand Clapping (Capitol), a collection of songs recorded by McCartney & Wings at Abbey Road Studios in 1974, debuts at #3. Never released in its entirety, the set accompanies a documentary of the same name filmed by David Litchfield during the sessions.

Elsewhere in midweek madness, British indie rock band Sea Girls could have their third Top 10, with Midnight Butterflies (Alt/Believe) at #4. BRAT (Atlantic) by Charli xcx remains in the Top 5, at #5.

USB (Atlantic) by Fred again.. is up 171 places to reach the Top 10 for the first time, at #6. A posthumous boxed set from David Bowie, Rock ’n’ Roll Star! (Parlophone/Rhino), is at #7.

Meanwhile, Fathers & Sons (Seven Ridges/Sony) by Luke Combs could be his third Top 10 U.K. album; it's currently at #8.
