TOWNSHEND, PLATT AMONG TONYS PRESENTERS

Newly announced presenters for Sunday night’s 77th Annual Tony Awards include The Who’s Pete Townshend, HITS Pride 2024 cover artist Ben Platt, previous Tony and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo (who portrays Elphaba in the upcoming two-part film adaptation of the musical Wicked), Jennifer Hudson and Nick Jonas.

The American Theater Wing has also confirmed that Stereophonic—the Fleetwood Mac-inspired Best Play nominee with songs written by former Arcade Fire member Will Butler—has been added to a previously released list of performances, alongside The Outsiders, The Who’s Tommy, Hell’s Kitchen, Illinoise (based on Sufjan Stevens' similarly titled 2005 album), Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Merrily We Roll Along, Suffs and Water for Elephants.

Along with the aforementioned presenters, the lineup comprises Utkarsh Ambudkar, Nate Burleson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Josh Gad, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Sean Hayes, Taraji P. Henson, Julianne Hough, The Outsiders producer Angelina Jolie, Idina Menzel, Ashley Park, Jim Parsons, Wendell Pierce, Anthony Ramos, Andrew Rannells, Solomon Thomas, Taylor Tomlinson, Tamara Tunie, Adrienne Warren, Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Wright.

The Tonys will air live from the Koch Theater at Lincoln Center on 6/16 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on CBS and will livestream on Paramount+. Jack Sussman is one of the show’s three executive producers.
