Country phenom Jelly Roll is extending his relationship with BBR Music Group/Stoney Creek/BMG, which in turn has partnered with Republic for the distribution of his next album. The pact was jointly announced by BMG President, Frontline Recordings, North America Jon Loba and Republic chief Monte Lipman. Pictured above brainstorming some baked-goods verticals are (l-r) Monte, Jelly, Loba and Republic President/COO Avery Lipman.
The multiple award-winning, Grammy-nominated Jelly will drop his next single, “I Am Not OK,” on 6/12; his first album under the new arrangement is due later this year.
Now let’s get the quotes, which will later be tattooed onto the faces of the relevant parties:
“Jelly Roll embodies artistry and independence,” reads Loba’s statement. “His authenticity is the key to his success. He continually uses his platform to not only captivate audiences with his music but also to uplift communities. We are proud of everything we have accomplished together and look forward to achieving even more success in the future.”
“Jelly Roll is a global icon who’s rewritten the rule book and continues to smash traditional boundaries, all on his own terms,” goes a quote attributed to Lipman. “His strength, determination, and creative vision is that of legends. We’re honored to join his strategic partnership with Stoney Creek Records, BMG, and trusted hitman and consigliere John Meneilly.”
For his part, Jelly acknowledged Loba, BMG chief Thomas Coesfeld and his new Republic partners, adding, “I’ve never been more inspired musically.”
Jelly's country debut album, Whitsitt Chapel, was among the most acclaimed sets of last year, led by passionate smash single "Save Me." This week, meanwhile, he has scored his fifth Country radio #1 with "Halfway to Hell." Among many other laurels, the versatile artist won CMA New Artist of the Year and ACM Musical Event of the Year, and three CMT Awards and various iHeartRadio Awards; he was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy and one for Country Duo/Group Performance.
