The rollout for Eminem's forthcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), has begun. The follow-up to 2020's Music To Be Murdered By is expected this summer via Shady/Aftermath/Interscope.
On Monday (5/13) the Motor City native ran an obituary for his alter ego in the Detroit Free Press, bidding adieu to his evil twin.
"His complex and tortured existence has come to a close," the obit reads in part, "and the legacy he leaves behind is no closer to resolution than the manner in which this character departed this world.”
The obit also ran in the Los Angeles Times sports section, among other newspapers.
Eminem announced The Death of Slim Shady on 4/25 via the NFR podcast's X account. The announcement was coupled with a trailer starring 50 Cent. Read the obit below while we bow our heads in mourning.
