EMPIRE’s Shaboozey is making the most of country music’s hot streak. The Virginia native has the hottest country cut in the U.S. with “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” now Top 5 at both Spotify and Apple Music, #1 at iTunes and #4 on Shazam U.S.
Shaboozey’s breakout includes two features on Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER, “SPAGHETTI” and “SWEET HONEY BUCKIN’.” Perhaps it's no surprise, then, that just a few weeks after Bey’s country set dropped, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” began to go viral. On 5/1 the track reached a new peak of #8 on Spotify’s global chart.
The timing couldn’t have been better for the Range-repped singer-songwriter-producer; Shaboozey took advantage of getting hot in April, making buzzy appearances during Stagecoach weekend, including a surprise set that packed Bud Light’s Backyard tent. Diplo and The Chainsmokers even added “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” to their DJ sets. (Range, incidentally, also has publishing on the record.)
How far can this one go? Stay tuned and keep your cowboy hats on. Watch the video for “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” below.
