Distributor A24 tops the nation’s box office for the first time as Alex Garland’s Civil War pulls in an estimated $25.7m in its opening weekend.
It’s the biggest opening for an R-rated film this year. Civil War was the weekend’s only new release.
The concert film featuring BTS’ SUGA, Trafalgar Releasing’s Suga/Agust D Tour D-Day The Movie, grossed $2.2m in its first five days of release.
