Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire crushed North American theaters in its debut weekend, raking in $80m. It’s the second-largest domestic opening weekend of the year, just a few million bucks behind Dune: Part Two.
The New Empire also brought in $114m overseas, giving it a global total of $194m. With just three days of income, the Warner/Legendary monster movie rises to third place on the year’s box office chart led by Dune: Part Two, which has earned $626m worldwide.
