Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire dominated the domestic box office over the weekend, pulling in $45.2m. The tally edged the opening stanza of its 2021 predecessor Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which grossed $44m.

This other new release this weekend, Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney, opened in fourth place with $5.3m. Late Night With the Devil, in sixth place with $2.8m, is the biggest opening weekend for IFC Films.

  2. Dune: Part Two (Warner Bros.): $17.6m total; 3,437 screens; $5,120 average per screen (Week 4)
  3. Kung Fu Panda 4 (Universal): $16.8m total; 3,805 screens; $4,414 average per screen (Week 3)
  4. Immaculate (Neon): $5.36m total; 2,354 screens; $2,276 average per screen (Debut)
  5. Arthur the King (Lionsgate): $4.36m total; 3,003 screens/$1,451 average per screen (Week 2)
