Shania Twain, Melissa Etheridge, Jason Isbell, Lainey Wilson and fellow New Jersey native son Bruce Springsteen will salute the music of Jon Bon Jovi when he receives MusiCares' 2024 Person of the Year award 2/2 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Comedian Jim Gaffigan will host.
Bon Jovi—the band—will also take the stage, as will Jelly Roll, The War and Treaty, Brandy Clark, Måneskin frontman Damiano David, Marcus King and the Goo Goo Dolls. Kylie Minogue and Gayle King have been tapped to present; Rob Mathes will serve as music director, and HITS will start spraying its hair into the perfect '80s poof 24 hours in advance.
There's a lot going on in the Jovi-verse at the moment, including the frontman's previously announced 2/7 appearance at Pollstar Live! at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, where he will participate in a panel called "How To See a Million Faces and Rock Them All" and receive the Milestone Award in recognition of Bon Jovi's 40th anniversary.
Meanwhile, a career-spanning documentary project, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, directed by Gotham Chopra, will premiere 4/26 on Hulu.
Lastly, out digitally this week is an Island/UMe deluxe edition of Bon Jovi's self-titled 1984 debut album, with vinyl and cassette editions coming on 3/24 and 4/5, respectively.
Phew! And remember, kids, don't try to rock a million faces at home; leave it to the professionals.
