Akon embarked on a North American trek in November dubbed The Superfan Tour, his first major such outing since joining Usher on the OMGTour way back in 2011. The man born Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam sold out all 15 dates, including stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
The UTA-repped artist dropped his latest album, Akonda, in 2019. His set included newer songs as well as his 2004 hit "Locked Up," the 2005 collaboration with Jeezy, "Soul Survivor," 2008's "Right Now (Na Na Na)" and much more.
Akon has been sharing highlights from the tour on Instagram and expressing his gratitude along the way. But he's not done yet—he still has a show on Sunday (12/10) at the House of Blues in Dallas, where he'll bring more of his Senegalese-American sounds to the audience. Pictured elated nobody from HITS managed to finagle their way backstage is Akon and UTA agent Mike G.
