IIIXL STUDIO team: founder & CEO Sickamore, co-founder & Creative Director Noah Hornik and co-founder & COO Skyler McLean
SoundCloud and A&R hitter Sickamore have partnered to launch IIIXL STUDIO, a Brooklyn-based enterprise focused on signing and developing NYC artists. Twenty-year-old Liim is its first artist-in-residence.
Relying on SoundCloud’s proprietary data and Sickamore’s ear for talent, the partners will actively source new artists for SC's artist-development program. APG's label-partnership division is providing additional resources.
Brooklyn-raised Randall "Sickamore" Medford has spent a decade helping develop artists like Travis Scott, YG, Don Toliver and Sheck Wes. He previously held creative titles at Epic and Interscope.
"Sickamore is one of the most creative and influential talents in our field, and we’re so excited for what’s next," said Eliah Seton, CEO of SoundCloud. "Contributing his passion, dedication and expertise, he will cultivate what’s next on SoundCloud and break major new voices.”
Sickamore will work directly with SoundCloud’s artist-partnerships specialists to offer creative and marketing resources to artists and their teams. A monthly showcase of New York City’s finest emerging hip-hop talent is in the works.
