Green Day will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dookie with a deluxe reissue.
Arriving on 9/29, Dookie 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition features demos and outtakes as well as previously unreleased live performances, including Live in Barcelona (June 5, '94) and Live at Woodstock (also from 1994), which will appear on DSPs for the first time.
The expanded iteration will be available as a limited-edition six-LP or four-CD set. Each will boast a unique assortment of goodies—Dookie dog-poop bags, air fresheners, magnets—and liner notes by producer Rob Cavallo and writer Bob Mehr. Pre-order here.
The diamond-certified Dookie—the Crush-repped band’s third album and major-label bow—unleashed smashes “Basket Case,” “When I Come Around” and "Longview." Issued in 1994 on Reprise, it won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album and has sold 20m copies.
In a possibly related story, "Dookie" is a virtual anagram of HITS.
