With negotiations at a standstill, the Writers Guild of America went on strike 5/2 against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, and the writers are getting creative with their picket-line signs.
The WGA's demands included fair minimum compensation, improved residuals and better protections for writers in the era of streaming. Despite high-profile backing for the cause, the AMPTP refused to comply with the terms, leaving the contracts to expire without an agreement in sight.
