Chance The Rapper has announced two new Acid Rap concerts to commemorate the mixtape’s 10th anniversary—one at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 8/26 and another at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on 9/21. Both will be produced by Live Nation. The performances are part of Lil Chano’s larger Acid Rap celebration, which also includes pop-ups, merch drops and special music releases.
Issued in April 2013 as a free digital download, Acid Rap explores Chance’s experiences with LSD over a sound bed of psychedelic acid jazz. The music was provided by several producers, including Jake One, Nate Fox, Nosaj Thing and Ludwig Göransson, who laced the project with eclectic beats. Action Bronson, Vic Mensa, Twista, Childish Gambino and Ab-Soul are among the many guest vocalists.
The collection didn't make it to streaming services until 2019. Acid Rap (10th Anniversary–Complete Edition) arrived on 4/30. It includes "Juice," one of 14 tracks previously unavailable online due to sampling issues.
General on-sale tickets for Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap 10-year anniversary shows will be available beginning 5/5 at 10am ET. You want Acid Rap merch? Click here while we spend a few hours staring at these fractals on our computers.
