HIP-HOP AT 50: A RAPPER'S DELIGHT FROM iHEART

iHeart Media is launching a special series called "iHeartRadio Presents: 50 Years of Hip-Hop." Hosted by no less than Fab 5 Freddy, the yearlong happening will play out via broadcast radio, streaming, events and a dedicated podcast, benefiting from iHeart's massive reach to demonstrate hip-hop's undeniable impact.

The festivities will kick off in February, Black History Month, with vignettes featuring 50 Cent, Diddy, E-40, GloRilla and Ice Cube, among others, who will share personal stories of what initially drew them to hip-hop. March will see a tribute to Def Jam Recordings and 3/8 a celebration of International Women's Day.

Further retrospective content will be rolled out in June, Black Music Month. iHeartRadio’s Living Black! series, meanwhile, will return in August. An hourlong special produced by Rikki Hughes will follow.

iHeartRadio Presents: 50 Years of Hip-Hop will coincide in September with the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Festival and culminate in December with the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour.
