Final-round voting is open for the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards.
HARDY leads the pack with seven, while Lainey Wilson is right behind him with six.
The two artists are a single unit in three categories for their song “wait in the truck,” up for Song of the Year, Music Event of the Year and Visual Media of the Year.
Securing five noms each are Miranda Lambert—the most-awarded artist in ACM history—Kane Brown, who scores his first-ever Entertainer and Male Artist noms, Luke Combs and Cole Swindell, who’s up for Single, Visual Media and Music Event for the first time. Morgan Wallen and Chris Stapleton picked up four, while Katelyn Brown and Cody Johnson landed three apiece.
Aside from Kane Brown, competing for Entertainer of the Year are Combs, Lambert, Stapleton, Wallen, Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood. The category has been expanded to seven nominees this year.
Another first is the splitting of the songwriter award into two categories: Artist-Songwriter, loaded with familiar names, and Songwriter of the Year, in which Song of the Year nominees Ashley Gorley, Josh Osborne and Hunter Phelps are recognized.
At least one woman is nominated in every main category, and for just the second time in ACM history, three albums released by all-female acts have been nominated for Album of the Year. The first time it happened was in 1999.
The 58th ACM Awards will be handed out 5/11 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, with hosts Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. The event will stream live on Amazon Prime Video starting at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
