HIP-HOP AT 50: ESSENCE FEST BRINGS THE CULTURE TO NOLA

The ESSENCE Festival of Culture concert series will take place 6/30-7/2 at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans in celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Headliners include Lauryn Hill, who will perform The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in its entirety, Megan Thee Stallion and So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri. Dupri and Doug E. Fresh are tasked with curating a special hip-hop 50 segment.

Other artists expected to perform: Wizkid, Monica, Coco Jones and Kizz Daniel. Comedians Deon Cole, Affion Crockett, Spice Adams and Janelle James will host, with additional music provided by Spinderella, Kid Capri and DJ Clark Kent.

On top of the nightly concerts at the Superdome, fans can enjoy the ESSENCE Food & Wine Festival, a family night and much more 6/29-7/3 as part of the larger Essence extravaganza.

Those who wish to make the trip to Louisiana for the ESSENCE Festival of Culture can find tickets and further info here. We'll likely remain on the sofa—as usual.
