SWEET 16: AN EPIC GRAMMY HAUL

Sylvia Rhone’s Epic earned 16 nominations on Tuesday, with hip-hop hitmakers DJ Khaled and Future leading the label with six nods apiece.

Khaled’s album GOD DID (We the Best) produced a Song of the Year candidate in its title track—which features an all-star collaboration of JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, John Legend and Fridayy—as well as noms for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. GOD DID is also up for Best Rap Album and posted a nomination for “Beautiful” f/SZA & Future in Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Future acquired the biggest haul of his career; his #1 album I Never Liked You earned a Best Rap Album nod—a first for the influential Atlanta MC. The LP’s standout single, “WAIT FOR U” f/Drake & Tems, scored noms in Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance. Future was also acknowledged as a featured artist for his work on Gunna’s “pushin P."

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne earned four nominations with his latest effort, Patient Number 9, which is up for Best Rock Album. The title track, featuring Jeff Beck, is in contention for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance, while “Degradation Rules” f/Tony Iommi nabbed a Best Metal Performance nod.

Epic also landed a nom in the Pop field, with Camila Cabello’s “Bam Bam” f/Ed Sheeran.

To celebrate the nominations Tuesday, Rhone and her team yelled “anotha one” 16 times in unison.
