Spotify has teamed up with gaming platform Roblox for Planet Hip-Hop, "a futuristic world dedicated to hip-hop." It arrives as part of Spotify Island, the streaming giant's "digital destination for audio," which was launched earlier this year.
Similar to the K-pop wonderland K-Park and Spotify Island itself, Planet Hip-Hop serves as a virtual portal in which fans and artists can play, explore and connect.
After entering through the destination's "mainland," fans can parkour their way through the low-gravity world to unearth a variety of hidden treasures. Players will also be able to build their own hip-hop soundtracks with the help of Soundtrap and personalize vehicles.
Fans of TDE/Capitol's Florida-bred artist Doechii can head over to Doechii’s Swamp, where players can then approach swamp princess Doechii and “persuade” her (inspired by her single “Persuasive”) to let them pass by answering a series of questions. As long as they answer correctly, participants will be allowed to join her swamp and grow an alligator tail. This is not unlike the process by which HITS hires staff.
Go here for more information on Planet Hip-Hop. Details on HITS' virtual destination, Planet Cesspool, will be forthcoming.
