Following a stint on Apple Music, Nicki Minaj's Queen Radio made its regal return on 8/11 via Amp, Amazon's live radio app.
During the show, which became the #1 trending Twitter topic minutes after its premiere, Minaj welcomed special guests Drake and Lil Wayne for an impromptu Young Money reunion.
"Do you remember when I first came on that tour bus?" Minaj asked Wayne. "You were so sweet because I know you were tired and you let me play so much music. I freestyle on JAY-Z’s 'Kingdom Come' beat. I will never forget. You looked at me and was like, 'How the fuck you get that beat? I’ve been looking all over for that motherfucking instrumental.' I’m thinking he about to tell me I killed it."
Drake added, "The reason we talk about the bus is because it was almost like we lived in a house together. We were just following Wayne around, which is one of the best things that he could have ever let us do. It was like the summer boot camp of learning—work ethic, how to rap, how to make music, how to write, how to perform. Those times shaped my character."
Minaj followed up with the debut of her new cut, "Super Freaky Girl," which—as the title suggests—borrows heavily from Rick James' 1981 classic "Super Freak." The song is getting some serious traction on TikTok.
Minaj also fielded questions from fans, announced four fan-art winners and unveiled exclusive Queen Radio merch that can be purchased exclusively from the Amazon Music Merch Shop here. The full Queen Radio episode will soon be available to stream. In the meantime, bust out the incense, wine and candles.
