Global streaming champ Bad Bunny is asserting his dominance over the U.S. chart yet again as Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) logs a fifth week at #1 on the HITS Top 50. With 105k, Bunny’s summer run extends to 10 consecutive weeks with more than 100k in activity, surpassing Drake’s nine-week 2016 spate of 100k+ weeks with Views.
Giving Bunny some fierce competition is Brent Faiyaz’s WASTELAND, released and distributed independently by Lost Kids via Venice/Stem, which opens at #2 with 94k. The underground R&B phenom connected with superstars Drake, Tyler, The Creator and Alicia Keys for his sophomore set.
Following Faiyaz are K-pop newcomers aespa, who score their biggest opening yet with their Warner debut, GIRLS–THE 2ND MINI ALBUM (SM), at #3 with 56k.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Columbia’s Harry Styles with Harry’s House and Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic).
Streeting this week are new titles by Big Hit/Geffen’s j-hope, WMG’s Lizzo, Warner’s Zach Bryan, Island’s Sabrina Carpenter, JYP/Imperial’s ITZY, RCA’s Steve Lacy, Dirty Hit’s beabadoobee and Interscope’s Yo Gotti and CMG.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, it’s time to resume our summer nap. See the full chart here.
