ANGELS FOR MONTGOMERY

Backstage at L.A.’s El Rey Theater, Warner Records Co-Chairmen Aaron Bay-Schuck and Tom Corson presented singer/songwriter Ricky Montgomery with a plaque commemorating 1 billion global streams. The big numbers were primarily from the artist’s singles “Mr. Loverman” and “Line Without a Hook.” Tom helpfully pointed out that in addition to proclaiming his success, the plaque would also be useful for hiding behind should any disreputable trade journalists be spotted in the joint. Seen just before checking on the status of the megamix of Jan. 6 subcommittee hearings they’d requested are (l-r) Bay-Schuck, Montgomery, Clean Slate Management’s Joe Ruzicka and Corson.
