SM Entertainment is joining forces with Warner Records on its K-pop quartet aespa. The girl group has been designated an Apple Music Up Next act in advance of its new EP, Girls–The 2nd Mini Album, which will arrive on 7/8. Their debut EP, Savage, earned a Top 20 bow last year on the HITS Top 50.
aespa will kick off the global pact 6/4 with single "Life's Too Short." "Illusion" is out now.
“KARINA, WINTER, GISELLE and NINGNING have already had an impact around the world under the leadership of SM founder and chairman Soo-Man Lee and his incredible team,” said Warner chairmen Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck in a joint statement. “We’re honored to welcome them to the Warner Records family as our first-ever K-pop group and look forward to achieving unprecedented success together.”
Earlier this year, the foursome made its buzzy debut U.S. live performance during a surprise set on the main stage at Coachella.
