In throwing out the first pitch this Flipover Friday, we’ve got nine rookies in the Top 10 iTunes albums lineup and a veteran act with its first single in 28 years in iTunes songs.
The first of two albums Jack White plans to release this year, Fear of the Dawn (Third Man) leads off the iTunes albums Top 10, followed by Camila Cabello’s Spanish-language Familia (Epic), which not only comes in at #2, it’s Top 40 at Apple Music.
The self-titled debut full-length by the U.K. duo Wet Leg (Domino) is #3, with Papa Roach’s Ego Trip (New Noize/ADA) batting cleanup.
Cole Swindell’s first album since 2018, Stereotype (Warner Nashville), takes a swing at #5, while masked troubadour Orville Peck is in the #6 slot with Bronco (Columbia). Joe Satriani’s The Elephants of Mars (Edel) stomps in at #7.
Vince Staples is the lone act to make the Top 20 at iTunes and Apple Music; his fifth studio album, Ramona Park Broke My Heart (Blacksmith/Motown), is #9 in sales and #13 in streams.
The #10 position has been bouncing between the first post-Rush project from guitarist Alex Lifeson, Envy of None (Snapper), and Father John Misty's Chloe and the Next 20th Century (Sub Pop).
The iTunes songs summit is occupied by the first new recording since 1994 from the David Gilmour/Nick Mason-led edition of Pink Floyd, “Hey, Hey, Rise Up” (Sony), a single benefiting Ukraine. Jack Harlow’s “Come Home the Kids Miss You” (Generation Now/Atlantic) is #2 at both iTunes and Apple Music.
Chloe’s “Treat Me” (Parkwood/Columbia) is new at #10.
