Downtown Music Holdings is welcoming the return of David K. Dormon, now in the capacity of General Counsel.
Dormon joined the company in 2018 as Legal Counsel and Director of Acquisitions and quickly rose to Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs, but left later that year to take a position with international law firm Reed Smith LLP.
He now replaces Peter Rosenthal, who is departing to pursue another opportunity.
“I know I speak for the entire company when I welcome David back into the Downtown family,” said Andrew Bergman, CEO of Downtown Music Holdings. “He has a deep knowledge of our operations, keen negotiating skills, global M&A expertise and the respect of the entire industry. I am pleased to be able to offer him this very important role at Downtown.”
During his initial run, Dormon was key to Downtown's 2019 acquisition of the catalog of the Belgian publisher Strictly Confidential, its 2020 acquisition of B2B tech and services company FUGA and last year's blockbuster sale of Downtown’s library of copyrights to Concord.
Prior to his arrival at Downtown, Dormon served at the firm of Vedder Price and in Chicago at Katten Muchin Rosenman.
