SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING GOES RIGHT TO THE HOOK

Sony Music Publishing has promoted Alison Hook to Senior Vice President, Sampling and Copyright Infringement, U.K. & International.

Hook will oversee the company’s sampling and copyright-infringement matters to ensure efficient royalty and credit processing. She will be based in the U.K. office and report to David Ventura, President & Co-Managing Director, U.K., SVP International, and Tim Major, Co-Managing Director, U.K., Sony Music Publishing.

Hook, who's been with SMP for more than 25 years, established the first online sample-clearance guide, which streamlined the clearance process and clarified definitions of copyright infringement, among numerous other accomplishments. Understandably, she is not at all pleased to appear on this website.
