Republic’s MIKA has been tapped to co-host the 66th annual Eurovision contest. He will be joined by Grammy winner Laura Pausini and longtime TV host Alessandro Cattelan. The event will take place in Turin, Italy, 5/10-14.
Having hosted The X Factor in Italy for nine years—including in 2017, when Italian rockers Måneskin won—MIKA also previously served as a coach on The Voice France and hosted his own I Love Beirut benefit livestream.
“I’ve been watching [Eurovision] since I was a kid; the whole family would reunite for the finale,” said MIKA. ”It’s an exciting honor to be one of the masters of ceremony of these fantastic nights."
MIKA—who made his debut in 2007 with U.K. chart-topper “Grace Kelly”—will kick off his North American For the Right of Spring Tour on 4/3, followed by a slot at Coachella before returning to Europe for an extended outing.
The BRIT Award winner and Grammy nominee, who is managed by Rich Isaacson, has sold 10m+ albums globally and garnered 2.8b+ streams.
