Spotify Global Music Head Jeremy Erlich has tapped Sulinna Ong as Global Head of Editorial. Ong, hitherto the Spot’s Head of Music for the U.K. and Ireland, joined the streamery in 2019.
In the course of her impressive career, she’s served at Deezer, Live Nation and Sony, among other music-related entities. The Western Sydney University grad is reportedly conversant in English, Farsi, Malay and Mandarin, which is four more languages than we speak. Word has it that Jeremy is currently giving Ong, who will relocate to Los Angeles for her new job, a crash course in steering well clear of everyone from HITS, editorial or otherwise.
Ong is due to officially step into her new role on 11/1 and to relinquish her leadership of the U.K./Ireland divisions on 11/19; at that time U.K. MD Tom Connaughton will succeed her as Blighty/Éire Music head while maintaining his present duties.
