Sony's Legacy is celebrating 30 years of Cypress Hill's self-titled debut album with an expanded anniversary release featuring a trio of bonus tracks: "Stoned Is the Way of the Walk (Reprise)," "Latin Lingo (Prince Paul Mix)" and "Hand on the Pump (Muggs' Blunted Mix)."
Cypress Hill (30th Anniversary) (SME/Legacy/Certified) is also offering two remixes as stand-alone singles: "How I Could Just Kill a Man" by Alchemist (available now) and "Hand on the Pump" (coming soon).
High-resolution versions of videos for songs from the original album and a microsite with an interactive timeline of Cypress Hill's career are part of the drop, too.
As for physical offerings, Get on Down is releasing a limited-edition two-LP red-and-black "galaxy effect" colored-vinyl version of Cypress Hill. The Boston reissue house is likewise serving up a limited-edition box set of six 7-inch vinyl singles in a hardcover casebook with an 80-page booklet. Preorder here.
A 12-inch disc pressed on translucent (appropriately) green vinyl, meanwhile, will be available exclusively through Z2 Comics (an artist-owned purveyor of comic books and graphic novels). That comes with an 80-page graphic novel, Cypress Hill: Tres Equis, which can be had here.
The Cypress Hill documentary Hits From the Bong, produced by Sony Music’s Premium Content division and Mass Appeal and directed by L.A. photographer and video director Estevan Oriol, will premiere on Showtime next year.
Primary Wave's Deb Klein was the force behind the comic book and documentary deals. Deb, if you need to consult anyone on 30 years of bongage, we are at your service.
