HAPPY 95TH BIRTHDAY, TONY BENNETT!

Tony Bennett, the true King of Queens, celebrates his 95th birthday today (8/3) with the first of two concerts with Lady Gaga at Radio City Music Hall.

The shows will mark the Astoria-raised legend’s final appearances in New York City; Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016. Among other accolades, the State of New York has proclaimed today Tony Bennett Day and Sony Music—home of Bennett’s longtime label, Columbia—has endowed a bench in Central Park near his NYC residence.

"Sony Music wishes Tony Bennett the happiest of birthdays as he turns 95," said Richard Story, President of Sony Music Entertainment's Commercial Music Group. “Tony is an American treasure who became an international phenomenon and has chronicled his lifelong love affair with New York City. It is an honor to dedicate this bench to Tony in his beloved Central Park, where he has experienced so much joy and inspiration across the years.”

Bennett and Gaga's new collaboration, Love for Sale (Columbia/Interscope), a tribute to Cole Porter, arrives on 10/1. Billed as Bennett's final recording, it's the second album from the duo, following 2014's Cheek to Cheek.
