A RICH PROMOTION AT EPIC

Seasoned digital exec Richard Foster has been promoted to VP of Marketing at Epic. EVP, Head of Marketing, Dave Bell made the announcement Monday. Foster, who will remain in New York, will report to Bell.

Foster has conceived and executed his share of high-profile artist campaigns since joining Epic less than two years ago, among them the digital marketing initiative for the #1 album Savage Mode II by 21 Savage and Metro Boomin. In his new role, he will continue to work closely with all departments at the label to keep a clear creative thread running through every project while serving as the central point of contact for those projects, which include music by R&B breakthrough GIVĒON.

“Rich’s limitless creativity and understanding of both the artist and fan perspective made him an immediate standout when he joined the company two years ago,” said Bell. “That led to his shift from digital marketing to product management. In both capacities he's helped drive some of our biggest success stories. His quick ascension is the result of hard work, determination and an unwavering eye on what moves the culture and the market.”

“I could never have anticipated the changes that Epic, not to mention the country and the world, would go through over the course of 2020 and now 2021,” said Foster. “I'm thankful for the guidance and advice provided to me by Sylvia Rhone, Rick Sackheim and Dave Bell. I've learned from all of them during this unforgettable time, and it’s only the beginning.”

Foster was Digital Marketing Director at WMG from 2018-2019. He began his career in music with a 2008-2009 stint at Universal Motown as a Digital & Traditional Marketing intern, becoming Digital Marketing Coordinator at UMe/Verve the following year.
