Nicki Minaj’s latest—featuring Drake and Lil Wayne—is the week’s biggest mover on the Shazam USA Top 100. J. Cole is on for the second consecutive week but with a different tune.
A week after “interlude” raced up the Biggest Movers chart, Cole’s “my.life” (Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope) gets thumbs wagging and winds up behind three TV-driven songs.
Fearless Soul’s self-released “Fix You” from last year rises up the Shazam USA Top 100 after a pivotal placement on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. Another 2020 release, William Prince’s “Lighthouse” (Glassnote), beams up the chart after a usage in the film Those Who Wish Me Dead, seen in theaters and on HBO Max; K-Ci & Jo-Jo’s mid-‘90s hit “All My Life” (Geffen) was featured on NBC’s evergreen This is Us.
The BRIT Awards had an effect on this week’s collection of Biggest Movers in the U.K. as Griff and Elton John make the list. Leading the way is Anne-Marie’s cover of The Five Stairsteps’ “Ooh Child”—it’s heard in an O2 advertisement—and some vintage Kate Bush and Engelbert Humperdinck tracks.
