Imran Majid and Justin Eshak, who are rumored to be stepping in as the new co-heads of Island Records, have been major-label A&R players for some time now (most recently at Columbia). Will their talent-spotting skills be just the right fit for the label’s next chapter? One thing’s for sure: If they’d spotted us coming, these potential Islanders would’ve sailed off in a different direction.
