Tom Grennan has landed at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Evering Road (Insanity) on more than 17,000 in sales. Over on singles, Nathan Evans’ “Wellerman” (Polydor) claims the top spot.
The majority of sales for Evering Road were physical—73%—which has become something of a trend for #1 albums of late. According to Official Charts analysis, Grennan’s set is the 10th album in a row to top the chart with majority physical sales, following Kings of Leon, Architects, Mogwai, Slowthai, Foo Fighters, Celeste, Bring Me the Horizon, You Me at Six and Gibb Brothers.
Elsewhere on albums today, Central Cee’s self-released debut mixtape, Wild West, lands at #2, while All the Right Noises (BMG) from British rock band Thunder is new at #3. Lifeline (Codename) by indie-pop artist RJ Thompson closes out the Top 5 at #5.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Evans’ “Wellerman” f/220 Kid and Billen Ted finally reaches the summit after seven weeks in the Top 3.
British newcomers A1 x J1 rise 10 places to #2 with their TikTok hit, “Latest Trends” (EMI), which has been boosted by a new remix featuring Aitch. KSI f/Yungblud and Polo G’s “Patience” (BMG/Atlantic) is the highest new entry at #3.
Joel Corry, Raye & David Guetta’s “BED” (Atlantic) is up nine places to #8, while Central Cee’s “Commitment Issues” is also up nine places, to #9.
